SUMMARY:Snake Aversion Clinic and Canine First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Canine First Aid: \nWe will be hosting our first canine first aid course open to the public in conjunction with the snake aversion clinic at Cedar Ridge Farm 502 McGee Rd\, Winston Salem\, NC 27107. \nThe course will be approximately 2 hrs long and be limited to ten participants.  The Course will begin promptly at 8am. \nInstructor\, Grayson Guyer: \nGrayson is a 2002 graduate of the US Army Special Operations Combat Medics Course and has completed Canine Canine Tactical Casualty Care offered by Veterinary Tactical Group of Fayetteville\, NC. He has instructed canine first aid to US and foreign military and law enforcement personnel for the last decade and supported dog/handler teams in some of the harshest environments on the planet including Afghanistan\, Kenya\, and Namibia. This year he will be offering a canine first aid course to the general public. The course will be geared toward non-military and LE dog handlers and will have a slant toward gun dog owners and dog owning outdoor enthusiasts.  The course of instruction will strictly adhere to the scope of practice of the layman and not cover procedures that should only be performed by a veterinarian.  Email grayson@losthighwaykennels.com for more information or to register for the course.  Cost $100 \nSnake Aversion Clinic: \nGrayson has partnered with CCSB Reptile Rescue and Rehab of Kernersville\, NC to offer snake aversion training on venomous species native to the region.   http://reptilerangers.tv \nJoin us for our next clinic and let Grayson train your dog to avoid all snakes. \nChad Griffin of CCSB will be on site to oversee the health and wellbeing of the snakes as well as offer a clinic on snakebite prevention and management for both pets and humans in the field.  The training will begin at 10am.  Cost $70/$60 if registering more than one dog. \nGrayson will handle all dogs through the training and delivery of well timed aversive stimulation with a remote training collar. This kind of training is often referred to as a singular learning event.  It is not fun for the dog or handler\, but it DOES save dog’s lives.   \nTraining will occur on caged copperheads and timber rattlesnakes and be tested on an exposed black rat snake or other non venomous species.  Contact Grayson to Sign Up!
